Watching bug life

A few weeks ago a friend of mine who is a science teacher took us to get some caterpillars from a garden. She had been watching them make chrysalises and turn into butterflies and when I heard that, I wanted my girls to get that experience.  So, off we went, braving mosquitoes and chickens, but coming home with seven caterpillars.  One died (taps plays now).  Herein documents our experiences with the bugs.
The caterpillars storing up food.

The first three chrysalises.

A late bloomer hanging on the side of the container.

All six chrysalises two days ago.

Our beautiful surprise when we got home tonight!
